What is the ASEAN Digital Academy Programme (ADA)?
The ASEAN Digital Academy (ADA) is a flagship initiative from the ASEAN Foundation in partnership with Infoxchange. It aims to strengthen the digital capabilities of ASEAN youth by providing a free, accessible, and engaging e-learning platform. ADA integrates two separate learning platforms of the ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme (ADLP) and ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme (ACSP), while also introducing AI-powered tools to equip young people with essential skills for navigating today’s tech-driven society.
What is the ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme (ADLP)?
The ASEAN Foundation, with the support of Google.org, implements the ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme. This programme aims to promote greater media literacy in the ASEAN region in order to fight against online disinformation and misinformation in a way to increase the awareness of the online safety to beneficiaries in the region such as youth, teachers, parents, elderlies, community leaders and government officials in collaboration with local working partners.
What is the ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme (ACSP)?
The ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme (ACSP) is designed to empower ASEAN youth with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise cyber threats and respond effectively to cybersecurity incidents. In its initial phase, the ASEAN Foundation partnered with Microsoft to develop the first module, “Microsoft’s Guide to a Secure Digital World”. This was later expanded with updated modules supported by Infoxchange, including “Digital Safety Awareness” and “Cyber Hygiene and Technical Prevention & Incident Response”.
What are ACSP Key Activities?
The ASEAN Cybersecurity Skilling Programme (ACSP)’s key activities include Training of Trainers, end-beneficiaries trainings, and developing an e-learning platform in cybersecurity, targeting the youth across the 10 AMS. When implementing the activities, the ASEAN Foundation worked with local implementing partners from the 10 AMS.
What are ADLP Key Activities?
The ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme (ADLP) has been working to deliver five key activities which include capacity building (Training for Trainers and end-beneficiaries training), ASEAN Youth Advisory Group, awareness raising campaign, research development on digital literacy in the regional scope, and developing the e-learning platform.

What will you get from the ASEAN Digital Academy?
ADA offers five courses on digital literacy and three on cybersecurity. Each course is divided into several modules. In each module, you must complete all learning materials (including the deck and training video), take the assessment, and earn the badge. By completing at least 60% of each course, you will be eligible to get a certificate of completion. You will also be able to download it.
Why is participation in the discussion forum required to receive the e-certificate?
By providing a diverse range of digital courses, ADA aims to strengthen each learner’s critical thinking skills and encourage active participation in vibrant discussion forums alongside peers from across ASEAN countries. This discussion forum also aims to foster meaningful cross-border connections, helping to build a secure, inclusive, and positive digital learning environment.
What advanced AI tools are available on the ADA platform?
The ADA platform features three advanced AI tools designed to enhance your learning experience: Ask AVA, Verify with AVA, and AI Translation in the discussion forum. Ask AVA and Verify with AVA are chatbot-powered assistants collectively known as AVA (ADA Virtual Assistance).
